Deep in the heart of Mount Kozuf, where the wilderness of Stara Reka creates a symphony of sounds, hides the Vera waterfall (locally known as Skokot) – a true turquoise pearl that for decades was kept only for the most persistent adventurers. The sight here is mesmerizing: crystal mountain water cascades with a roar down the rocks, forming a natural pool whose color varies from emerald green to deep blue, depending on the play of sun rays piercing through the thick canopies of walnuts and beeches.

A Path Through the Forest to the Place 'Popa'

Access to this masterpiece of nature is today turned into a little fairytale. Through 98 steps and a wooden bridge that perfectly blends into the ambiance, visitors can easily descend into the heart of the canyon, known as the place 'Popa'. As you walk along the path, you are overwhelmed by the freshness of the famous 'air spa' characteristic of the village of Sermenin, a place that since Ottoman times has been known for its healing climate.

A Story of Human Love for Nature

This natural idyll is not only a gift from the mountain but also proof of human love for it. Thanks to the vision and tireless work of Ratka and Venci, local residents who decided to clean up the former landfill with their own hands and build access, today the Vera waterfall shines in full glory. Their example is a reminder that nature rewards us with beauty only when we care for it.

Keep Kozuf Clean

When you stand on the wooden bridge, surrounded by the smell of the forest and the splash of cold water, forget about your phones for a moment and just breathe. This is a place for recharging batteries and respecting nature. Therefore, take only memories and photos, and leave only your footprints, so this oasis remains clean and untouched for generations to come.
